Its getting closer

Well Kali is due on Tuesday.  We are all getting ready for the pups to arrive and we are all excited - what will they be, yellow or black, male or female.  No way to know until they are here!

Sneakers on the other hand has these little bump outs on each side - 1 big pup on each side or several little ones.  Yesterday I had my hand on the bump and I think I felt it moving.  I know those will all be yellow but male or female, we will just have to wait, longer for her than for Kali of course.

In the meantime we are getting ready to put these pups up on the web.  Maybe this time we will try ustream - I don’t like the ads but maybe we can get rid of those.  If not, maybe we will go back to marestare again.  Will have to wait and see.  Tomorrow I will drag out the house camera, which is a Linksys internet camera, where I can keep an eye on the pups within the house.

All is ready.  Now we just need the pups to appear on the scene!  Since they are both first time moms we will have to wait and see how they adjust to their babies.

Puppies Galore

Well we sure are having puppies at Robnie -  with Kali due May 24th and Sneakers due June 8th.  Lucky that Kali’s owner is going to be raising those pups and here in our house we will just be raising Sneakers pups.  but since Kali lives only a few blocks away, we will be doing many things together or in parallel.  and maybe when they are both weaned we will put the litter together and have mass chaos!  We shall see if that idea remains after the first few weeks of puppies!

The pups will be on MareStare for sure so you all can watch them 24/7.

Sneakers has sure been acting weird.  She wants to cuddle all the time.  She is more tired than usual and her playful self has morphed into being a more reflective self.

Today I ordered some stuff for the pups - more playpens, more toys, more benebac etc.  Instead of linoleum under the whelping box I am going to use those rubber mats - we shall see how that works.  Going to go to EBay to find some more Elmo’s and the like as the pups love them.

I also bought an inexpensive artificial grass system.  I think I will probably stick with my sod box idea but I will have that for backup.

This is going to be fun!

Where do dogs sleep?

I thought I would start anew with 2010 and open a discussion on how our dogs sleep.

They are so spoiled. With 4 dogs in the house it is hard to find room on the bed, even given it is a king size bed for all of them. We have the bed, two crates, a dog bed, a couch and a kuranda bed in the room for them.

They are picky!

Lacey always takes her spot by my feet and doesn’t give an inch to anyone else.

Addie likes the couch usually but I have noticed lately that she is becoming a bed dog. Right next to me, curled up tight. She is a very flexible dog and can make herself very small.

Sneakers starts out every night in the crate and ends up every night on the pillow. Yes, on the pillow. She is not so flexible, so she takes a lot of room and usually drives Addie off the bed.

Tumble is very flexible and will fill in any empty space on the bed. She likes the bed and I think she wants to take over Lacey’s spot. Good luck with that.

Boy are they hot! And they always steal the covers!
